Graduate Trainee Programme – Business Management Scheme

Our client is a national law firm, they have a national reputation for excellence in its field. Acting for clients in both the public and private sectors, including central government, local authorities, landowners and institutional investors, the firm provides property law expertise to clients based throughout England and Wales.

Their solicitors are located remotely across the globe, with office spaces in London, Manchester, and Birmingham. All support teams operate from a dedicated Business Services Centre in Taunton. They are proud of their unique operating model, allowing highly experienced solicitors to focus on legal work and specialist business developers and account managers to deliver exceptional levels of client care.

The Graduate Training Programme is aimed at taking high calibre graduates through a broad spectrum of management training, covering all disciplines relating to the running of a law firm.

They are looking for people who are academically bright, naturally curious, and self-motivated, who have the drive to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic business at the heart of the real estate legal industry. For these individuals, their programme aims to add the layers of skills, experience, and commercial exposure required to mould you into the future leaders of their organisation.

They deliberately do not dictate what you will learn or push you through a rigid programme. Instead, the Graduate Trainees learn directly from their leadership team in line with the real-time demands of the business. One week that might mean taking a deep dive into compliance, another it might mean developing a system to deliver process improvements or running a marketing campaign.

Your workload will largely be structured into projects, with you either forming part of a team or acting as a project leader.

The end goal is not to push square pegs into round holes, but to give you a grounding in all areas of the business. Some work will play to your strengths, allowing you to develop specialisms within the business. Other work will stretch you outside your comfort zone, teaching you important business skills and challenging the way you think. All will be supported with dedicated training, mentoring and the support of other talented individuals in the business.

Our client is looking for outstanding performers, which means you must have:

A minimum 2:1 academic degree from a top university (likely Russell Group). All degrees will be considered but the role would especially suit a graduate in Law, Science/Engineering, English, Land Economy, Economics or other challenging degrees.
Minimum 3 A’s (or equivalent) at A-Level
Majority A*-As (or equivalent) at GCSE
They will however look at more than just your academic results and will also consider your strengths, values and motivations.
