Trainee IT Support Engineer & Installer

Our client is a small well established and growing IT consultancy providing support and infrastructure services serving Business in the South West of the UK.

The role:
This is a hybrid role providing support to the helpdesk and support to the site install team which will require some practical skills. The role will be fast paced, including a wide range of technology and be predominately customer facing. It will suit someone with a keen interest in all things IT and a passion for good customer service.

This position also offers ongoing career-based IT training and development.

Responsibilities:

• On the helpdesk you would work towards being responsible for logging and tracking tickets through to completion.
• Developing into the provision of IT support, troubleshooting and installations both over the phone and face to face on client sites over a wide range of technologies.
• With the installation team you will be learning skills required for installing and troubleshooting network equipment, data cabling, wi-fi systems and client PCs and Servers.
• In all areas you will need to provide a high level of customer service to a wide range of users, including those with minimal IT knowledge.

Desirable skills/experience:

• Already completed or currently studying towards a relevant IT qualification
• Previous experience working in a customer focused environment is highly desirable
• Clean driving license is required

You must have an aptitude for learning new skills as the technology they use changes rapidly to suit the businesses they serve. You will have a genuine desire and commitment to help, which is just as important as fixing stuff!

Full time hours (Monday to Friday), site based with opportunity of hybrid working.
