We have a fantastic new opportunity for an Office Manager based in Taunton, Somerset.
Our client is extremely proud to have a national reputation for excellence in its field and are looking for a candidate who can oversee the smooth operation of their office in Taunton and create a pleasant work environment. The role:

Full time, 100% site based
Hours 8.30 -5.00 Monday to Friday
Salary – up to GBP30000 DOE + great benefits

To ensure high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication, and safety. The right candidate will act as a main point of contact for any staff queries, liaise with senior management where needed and ensure the smooth running of the office to help to improve company procedures and day-to-day operation
Serve as the point person for office manager duties including:

  • Building opening and closing
  • Maintenance (including ensuring the building is kept compliant with all relevant regulations)
  • Post
  • Supplies and Equipment
  • Providing information to employees and facilitating communication between departments
  • Schedule meetings and appointments when needed
  • Organize the office layout and order stationery and equipment as directed by senior staff/management where appropriate
  • Maintain the office condition, office refresh and improvements, and arrange necessary repairs
  • Develop, update and maintain office policies and evaluate them to improve efficiency
  • Organise office operations and procedures
  • Manage contracts and price negotiations with suppliers (e.g. office supplies, Insurance policies and utility contracts)
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new employees in the Taunton office
  • Address employees queries regarding office management issues (e.g. stationery, hardware and travel arrangements for example)
  • Liaise with facility management providers, including cleaning, catering and security services
  • Assist in planning in-house or off-site activities like parties, celebrations and conferences
  • Assist with staff liaison between employees and senior management

About you:

  • Proven experience as an Office Supervisor or Manager
  • Experience in purchasing and supplier management
  • Leadership skills with plenty of patience to deal with all aspects of their job
  • Ability to communicate well verbally with people of all levels, including board directors
  • Knowledge of office management responsibilities, systems and procedures
  • Hands on experience with office machines (e.g. photocopiers and printers)
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work
  • Excellent written skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel and Outlook, in particular)
  • Additional qualifications in human resources and secretarial will be a plus
