Design Engineer

Our clients are one of Europe’s leading manufacturers in their sector. They are innovative, customer focused, agile, and engaging. This is an exciting and interesting opportunity that would suit a candidate with an Engineering bias wanting an Design Engineer position.

The role:

Responsibility for the production of CAD models, drawings and bills of material

Product design and development:

• Based on requirements for new products and changes to existing products, generate 3D CAD models of components and assemblies using Autodesk Product Design Suite.
• Provide documentation for design reviews.
• Review product test results and propose improvements where necessary.
• Produce drawings and instructions for fabrication / production.
• Create and maintain bills of material.
• Develop new and existing products

Manufacturing Technical Support:

• Assist Production team with technical queries

Product Sales Technical Support

• Support sales team by providing models, drawings
• Provide product technical support, application and installation advice.
• On occasion, attend site to assist in surveys or problem resolution in association with sales manager, quality manager or R&D engineer.

About you

Essential experience:
Product Design experience, Production/Manufacturing Apprenticeship
3D and 2D CAD systems (ideally AutoCAD and Inventor).
Practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
Full driving licence.

Qualification
Minimum of L3 NVQ in Engineering
Desirable: Degree level qualification in Engineering
