Management Accountant (prospect of promotion to partner)

Our client is set in the beautiful cathedral city of Wells, with good links to visit Bath and Bristol and to explore the local countryside including Glastonbury Tor, the local area is steeped in history. An accounting firm of highly skilled and experienced professionals based in Somerset, priding themselves on providing the best quality services.

They are recruiting for an experienced fully qualified accountant to take on a new challenge within a management role. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual looking for a step up or to take on a new challenge, for the right candidate there is opportunity of progression to Partner. You new role will include:

• Monthly Client Reviews: review and finalise client accounts, identify issues within client accounts, investigate any issues arising in client reviews, resolve said issues and record monthly check details
• Advice and Guidance for Clients: liaise with a range of existing and potential clients, advise and guide clients on all aspects of accounting and regarding tax
• Prepare Statutory Accounts: review profit and loss for clients, review control accounts, complete tax planning reviews
• Prepare Tax Returns: accurately apply legislation for tax returns
• Line Management: manage a small team of bookkeepers and accounts seniors, recruit and select candidates for vacant roles within the team, coach and develop team members, manage performance of team members, maximise attendance and wellbeing of the team
• You may also be asked to undertake other duties (per request from the MD), which is bound to keep your role exciting and put your skills to good use!

Essential skills to fulfil all aspects of this role include:

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Confident working with a range of Cloud Accounting software and apps
• Demonstratable experience in a practice
• Knowledge of changing trends in UK legal requirements re: accounting
• Excellent attention to detail
• Confident with facing clients and problem-solving
• Highly motivated

• Salary up to £65000 DOE
• An annual bonus scheme
• Full time hours – 9.00am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday
• Hybrid option after a qualifying period
