Thursday 30th March, we had the most amazing day at Taunton Racecourse celebrating our 50th Anniversary. We were joined friends of the business and clients who have been so supportive over many years. Finally, third time lucky, we managed to get the go ahead! Whilst the rain was forecast, we managed to dodge the showers and have a wonderful day, (it even included a royal visitor)!
Having sponsored two races, getting to pick best turned out and present the prize to the winners of the race; Race number 4, The Jobseekers Recruitment Services 50th Anniversary Handicap Hurdle and a win for Decorated (Also best turned out!) who made all to make it a double on the day for jockey Gavin Sheehan. And then, the 6th race of the afternoon was the Farmer Family Loved Ones Remembered Memorial Chase. Flash Gorcombe secured victory by 5 lengths for trainer Robert Walford and jockey Paul O’Brien.
During the afternoon we drew the winners for the raffle, raising over £350 towards St Margarets Hospice. Such a worthy cause with the services that they provide free of charge to the local community! From giant teddy bears to hampers and gadgets, we had a range of lovely prizes generously donated by local businesses, adding to the fun of the afternoon. This has brought our total fundraising to a fantastic £1456 from our 50th anniversary celebrations! A massive thank you to everyone that has supported us throughout.
